For many, the idea of spending time under the open sky and connected to nature may seem idyllic, yet a bit daunting. After all, modern-day life isn’t exactly designed to be spent in the wilderness without conveniences. Fortunately, my stay in San Juan Puerto Rico changed all of that!
Promising a connection to nature without compromising comfort, I had arrived with a desire to glamp and had decided to heed the oft-repeated advice to start my rustic-luxury adventure in the capital of San Juan. After exploring the city, and with a newfound appetite for more of the island's beauty, I sought out prime glamping venues with an alluring mix of adventure and convenience throughout San Juan.
From glamorous igloo tents (as pictured) in the mountains of Rio Abajo to, to luxurious camping cabins with romantic hammocks nestled in the historical district of Old San Juan, there were an array of accommodations to suit the style, taste and budget of any traveller! Each provided their own unique opportunity to step out of everyday life and experience nature at its finest, from the cool breezes on top of a hill, to sunrise over a glistening lagoon, to a picturesque sunset on the beach.
About the area, the diversity of landscape, and the attentive, friendly staff further enriched my time spent glamping, crafting what can only be described as a surreal, yet wholly authentic experience. By the end of the trip, I was surprised to find myself already planning my next stint glamping in San Juan.
